Mentoring a trainee teacher

First of all, thank you very much for agreeing to be a subject specialist mentor.  All of us were new teachers at some point in the past, and have developed thanks to the guidance and support of others. Your mentee is a trainee teacher who can benefit enormously from the subject specialist support you provide as their mentor.

Being a mentor can be challenging and it takes some commitment, but it can also be very rewarding as you see your mentee develop.  It can also be counted and logged as your own Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
